EXPLORE ELIZABETH CHARLOTTE

Named after a Lutheran women’s college, Elizabeth College, and now home to the main campus of Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC), this neighborhood is one community not be forgotten.  As with its neighboring communities, Plaza Midwood and Noda, Elizabeth also shares in its fair share of hip culture, creative residents, and preserved history. The majority of this area is part of the National Register of Historic Places and overall is a quiet, chill vibin’ neighborhood.  Located only minutes from Uptown, Elizabeth’s two most compact areas are along 7th Street and Elizabeth Avenue, both of which are within walking distance of one another and are full of local eateries, pubs, retail shops, music venues, sports, parks and more.  Elizabeth is also well-known as being home to Presbyterian Hospital, which was opened in 1903 and recently was named one of the top “100 Great Hospitals” in the nation.

Elizabeth is home to a wide range of unique real estate options.  New and restored Craftsman-style Bungalows are seen throughout, along with historic Georgian and Colonial style brick mansions, single-family homes, a mix of contemporary condominiums and townhouses, and modern apartments.  Elizabeth is definitely one of Charlotte’s most charming neighborhoods right on the edge of Uptown.

A few notable attractions in the Elizabeth neighborhood include: The Visualite Theater, The Double Door, Independence Park, and the American Legion Memorial Stadium.
