EXPLORE MIDTOWN CHARLOTTE
Located minutes from Uptown on the outer edge of Second Ward, Midtown is one of Charlotte’s most up and coming areas. Despite its close proximity to center city, this area has managed to stay under the radar to new residents until more recently. Originally home to Charlotte’s first indoor mall, The Charlottetown Mall, built in 1959, Midtown quickly met its match in the 1960’s after two more large indoor malls opened. After several renovations, the mall was finally bulldozed in 2006 making way for a modern mixed-use complex, The Metropolitan, located along Little Sugar Creek Greenway.

Midtown has quickly and continuously grown, and is now home to a variety of new upscale restaurants, bars and pubs, big box stores, retail shops, music venues, parks, and more. Boasting one of the best views of the Charlotte skyline, Midtown has now become a walkable, picturesque neighborhood. Convenient not only to uptown but Midtown is also a short walk or bike ride to Central Piedmont Community College in the neighboring Elizabeth area.

Midtown real estate is fast growing and mostly comprised of a condominium and apartment variety, however you can also find townhomes and single-family homes along the boarding Myers Park neighborhood.

A few notable attractions in Midtown include: Thompson Park, St. Mary’s Chapel, The Sunset at Metropolitan, Midtown Park and Kings Drive Farmers Market.
